Multipanel Commission Information
The development of large scale installations use PVC and/or 4mm Aluminium Composite Sheet. These installations are first conceived as pencil drawings. These drawings are translated into vector (scalable to any size without loss) coloured digital drawings. The vector files are then scanned and machine cut as small-scale layered paper collages. (See Paper Cuts in the constructions section of the Work page of this site) The small collages thus serve as prototypes whose shapes are exactly scalable and can be cut in aluminium or wood at a customised size to accommodate room sized site-specific installations and architectural collaborations. They use a variety of painted and printed methodologies. Arriving at a final solution in any commissioned project allows a collaborative process. Because the prototypes exist also as digital layer files they serve as visual references that allow the artist and client to explore multiple virtual experimental changes to colour and texture. Once a preference is established the files are then cut to the desired size for paint or print finishing. For installation the shapes are attached to each other with French Cleats.
